Emergency Shelter

Shelter is a critical, life-saving intervention for survivors and their children fleeing abuse, as the risk of lethality increases significantly when survivors attempt to leave their abusers.

YWCA provides two safe, secure, trauma-informed shelters for survivors of intimate partner violence. Shelter provides immediate safety and protection, allowing survivors to work towards longer-term safety and stability by securing access to housing and income, pursuing protection orders or meeting other legal needs, and addressing the trauma of abuse through mental health services and referrals.

Comprehensive services include case management, housing access, work support, group support, safety planning, children’s programming, aftercare services, education, and advocacy.

YWCA shelters operate 24 hours a day in Hamilton, Adams, Brown and Clermont Counties and serve approximately 530 adults and children annually.
