Family Justice Center (FJC)
The Family Justice Center (FJC), is a comprehensive victim service center located at our main downtown building, is accessible to all survivors in Hamilton County, and meaningfully increases access to services for under-served populations. The FJC serves as a coordinated community response for strengthening victim services and legal advocacy to survivors, with a priority focus on strengthening culturally-specific services to immigrants. In an effort to provide wrap-around services and reach diverse populations, the FJC maintains impactful relationships with community-based partners Women Helping Women, Cincinnati Prosecutor’s Office, Hamilton County Adult Probation, Legal Aid, Colerain Township Police Department, and Cincinnati Police Department.
Through specialized prosecution, investigation, court advocacy, and evidence collection, the FJC offers a critical, comprehensive approach that emphasizes accountability for abusive individuals and partners, and encourages the participation of survivors of violence in the multi-agency approach to their case across criminal justice systems.
Direct services to survivors include:
- Crisis intervention,
- Safety planning,
- Assistance filing police reports or criminal charges,
- Assistance with protection orders,
- Court accompaniment,
- Connection with community resources (including healthcare and mental health services),
- Relocation and housing,
- Connection with legal services (including immigration, divorce, and custody), and representation in protection order hearings,
- Danger screening and lethality assessment,
- Connection with community partners for cultural support.
All services provided are trauma-informed, non-judgmental, survivor-centered, and open to all survivors. Our staff is fully bilingual (Spanish and English) and will use professional interpretation services and for all other languages.
