Join us for an screening and in-depth discussion of the film based on Angie Thomas’ bold examination of the complexities of race in America through the story of sixteen-year-old Starr Carter, whose world is shattered when she becomes a key witness in the shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. YWCA Greater Cincinnati is partnering with local libraries, bookstores and universities to present community conversations on the effects of interpersonal and structural racism on our culture and society.
