Please join the Immigrant Survivors of Partner Violence (ISPV) Executive Committee at our virtual lunch and learn on Friday, October 30th, from 12:00PM-1:30PM.  Our topic is “Improving the Well-being of Immigrant Survivors of Intimate Partner Violence,” and will feature a presentation from our guest speaker Dr. Maria Espinola. Dr. Espinola is a clinical psychologist at UC Health and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

Dr. Espinola was born and raised in Argentina, South America. She studied psychology at the University of Buenos Aires before emigrating to the U.S. in 2001. She completed her doctorate in clinical psychology at Nova Southeastern University under the mentorship of Dr. Lenore Walker. Dr. Espinola later completed her pre-doctoral fellowship in multicultural psychology at Boston University Medical Center and her post-doctoral fellowship in trauma and the psychology of women at McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Espinola has received over 20 awards for leadership, diversity initiatives, innovation, and community impact. She has been featured on multiple media outlets, including CBS News, Fox19, Teen Vogue, and NBC News.
